Over the past several weeks, we have seen an increase in the amount of debit card fraud that is occurring among our customer base. In order to protect our customers from this fraud and possible losses, we have stepped up our monitoring of fraudulent transactions. If you are at a merchant and attempt to make a “signature” based transaction and the transaction is declined, please rerun the transaction using your “PIN”. If you do not have your secret PIN, please contact the bank and we will have a PIN reminder sent to you.

We have found that the majority of debit card fraud happens at merchants more than 200 miles from the home address of the cardholder. Therefore, when away from home, on vacation or business, we suggest that you use your PIN when making purchases with your debit card. We also ask that you let us know when and where you are traveling so that we can put your travel dates in our system so that your transactions will not be declined.

Remember, your daily purchase limit is $1,000 and a cash withdrawal limit of $400 when using your debit card. If you have any questions please feel free to contact your nearest branch.
